In Utah a 402 Reduction is a method to reduce the level of a Criminal Conviction. This allows the convicted to reduce their charge one level down. For example a Felony could be reduced to a Misdemeanor A or a Misdemeanor A to a Misdemeanor B. Lowering a Felony to a Misdemeanor Level means that the convicted party is no longer a “convicted felon” allowing them new opportunities in the work force.
